Robert F. Kennedy's Statement on Dr. King's Death - Montage April 4, 1968
Since Barack Obama gave his historic and incredibly moving speech at the Democrat Convention in 2004 he has been compared to both Robert and John Kennedy. Recently his oratory skills have been mocked with nay sayers diminshing his inspiring messages that compel masses of people to volunteer and donate to his campaign. "All he can do is give a good speech" they spew as if anyone can do it and it's a meaningless act. Interesting that on this day in history 40 years ago, Robert Kennedy gave a speech, speaking from his heart with little time to prepare and in doing so eliminated the violence that burst out across the country. Everywhere, that is except in Indianapolis, Indiana. Just a speech, I don't think so. And just as Robert Kennedy made a huge and lasting imprint on this infamous, tragic day, Barack Obama is unique in his ability to do the same should he be in a situation to act on a moments notice and without speech writers. If for no other reason, maybe simply this is a reason to vote for Barack Obama. In that moment of earth shattering news to be shared on a local catastrophe or a national or global crisis, who would you want speaking to us, to the country and to the world? I can't think of anyone that I would be more proud of or that could do it better than Barack Obama. I think that counts for a lot.

Interesting article. I've always heard that Jimmy Carter was a terrible President but seems to me he did a lot of good things maybe more in his post Presidential days than during his tenure. He certainly has proven himself to be charitable and sincere in his desire to make this world a better place. Former President Clinton pales in comparison.
